Sodma Academy successfully wrapped up its two-night “News Editing” workshop, bringing together over 30 media professionals via Zoom. The sessions were led by Al Jazeera journalist Ahmed Jarrar, who provided expert guidance on the fundamentals of news editing and reporting.

Throughout the workshop, participants learned how to structure news stories, edit for clarity and accuracy, and craft headlines that attract attention while staying truthful. Jarrar also shared practical tips on professional reporting, including source verification, avoiding bias, and adhering to ethical journalism standards.
Interactive discussions and hands-on editing exercises allowed participants to apply these skills in real-time, making the sessions highly engaging. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees appreciating the practical approach and insights provided by Jarrar.
